There’s enough going on throughout the meal, though, that it’s not necessary. If you’re some baller, by all means request the wagyu beef or the truffle add-ons. Note: There’s also all kinds of supplements you can add to your meal to make it more expensive. This now only makes me chuckle at how absurd the wine prices were to someone who’s had so many pleasant evenings sipping on our local “buy one get one for 5 cents” wines. The wait staff was coming at us from the shadows to make sure our every need was met, particularly around the choosing of a bottle of wine for the table. We made a misstep here by housing some pizza at Redd Wood, which has closed since unfortunately. Typically, this is often followed by a supper around 7pm of a little sammich, or a little meat and cheese plate, or perhaps some pickled things and bread rather than a multi-course French meal, but you get the idea. Note: By Polish dinner I mean we’d be eating a main meal around 2pm, as Poles like to do. The plan was to have a light Polish dinner in Napa so weren’t starving all day. The dinner we booked was a late one, as that’s what we were able to get on their online reservation system. It’s what makes her an excellent travel partner. What they typically had availability for were four-tops, so we suckered in our friends Cindy and Ken to pre-pay some Benjamins for what we hoped was the best dinner of our lives.Ĭindy has a fervent case of FOMO that typically leads to very little effort on my part of talking her into anything. ![]() We had been trying to get a reservation at The French Laundry for some time by this point, but a table for two was nearly impossible to snag every time we checked.
